About Us

SAHITYA PRAVAH is an apolitical and not - for - profit entity established in the year 2006 as a PUBLIC TRUST in the cultural city of Vadodara in the state of Gujarat. It is formed with the primary objective of promoting literature, felicitating literary luminaries and pursuing flow of knowledge by spreading literary ideas and literature the world over. SAHITYA PRAVAH is like a fully developed tree whose branches are spread far and wide. The tree in turn will help grow smaller plants into strong trees of literature under which all the passers - by would sit and savor the flavor of poetry and literature.

In acknowledgement and recognition of the success of the different activities undertaken by the trust in several cities of not Gujarat alone but various other states as well over the period and also to showcase the contributions of the participants, SAHITYA PRAVAH wishes to publish a souvenir which would coincide with commemoration of its anniversary. We have organized three such functions in the past and each time we have come out with a souvenir which has been very well received by the literary world, participants and public at large.

Mahatma Gandhi, who epitomizes the non - violent agitation which ultimately brought about freedom to our country, continues to inspire people the world over even today. SAHITYA PRAVAH has instituted an award in the name of LATE SHRI LUVJI ARJUN RATHOD who imbibed the values propagated by Gandhiji all throughout his life. Born in Kutch, he had to shift to Bhavnagar where he received formal education at the once famous Dakshinamoorty Vidyalaya. He was a strong literary person and hard-working as well. He was always concerned about the progress and wider acceptability of his mother language (Gujarati) as - well - as the national language (Hindi). SAHITYA PRAVAH remains in search of such persons with similar values and characteristics. One person is finally selected for the award and he / she is felicitated by the chief Guest of the respective anniversary celebration function. Following persons have been recipients of this prestigious award, popularly known as the LUVJI ARJUN RATHOD MEMORIAL AWARD.

2008 - Shri Vithalbhai Ahiya (Rajkot), who received the award at the hands of Smt. Sushma Swaraj, the present Cabinet Minister of Foreign Affairs, Union of India.

2010 - Shri Amrutbhai Modi (Ahmedabad) , who received the award at the hands of Dr. Lakshmi Shankar Bajpayee, Director, All India Radio, New Delhi.

2014 - Dr. Pratap Ba Rathore (Rajkot), was awarded by Dr. Kesri Lal Verma, Director, Commission For Scientific and Technical Terminology, New Delhi.

Brief Account Of Activities

SAHITYA PRAVAH, up till now, has organized activities in the field of literature concerning relevant and contemporary issues that include holding poetry making competitions, essay writing, story writing etc. in various schools and colleges / universities of places like Vadodara, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Anand, V.V. Nagar in Gujarat and also in several cities in the states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Bihar & M.P. Winners of several categories / streams are invited by the trust to Vadodara during the Annual Function, looked after during their stay and felicitated by way of recognition and handing over trophies by Chief Guests etc…

The feedback received by us from the various places where we have been holding such competitions is extremely positive and we feel encouraged to expand our activities to even farther places that have remained un - touched till now…

Dr. Nalini Purohit

Dr. Nalini Purohit, Professor of Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. I am in this profession since last 35 years. After completing my B.Sc. Honors from St. Xavier’s College Ranchi, M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Ranchi University, Ranchi, where I had worked for 12 years.

Since my childhood days I was interested in writing poetries. My first Hindi poetry book named, “ ANUBHUTHI” was published in 1993 and was released by Great poet, Former - Vice Chancellor, M.S. University of Baroda, late Dr. Suresh Dalal. Thereafter “MANTHAN”, ‘SAUNDHI MAHAK’, “AVLOKAN” in Hindi and “MATRUBHUMI KUTCH NA SANSAMARNO”, URMIL HELI”, “BHINISAUDAN” in Gujarati, “THE JOURNEY” in English was published. “SAHITYA PRAVAH” - The Annual Magazine of “Sahitya Pravah Organization’ was published in 2008, 2010, 2014 respectively.

To creat an awareness among youngsters for our Indian Culture and Religion i have published "Saral Ramayan" in sept 2017 using simple words which every one can understand easily. On same year 2017 my book on Chemistry was published named "The Journey of Carbohydrates" by Lambert Publishing House German.

I am regular artist ‘AIR – RANCHI, AIR - VADODARA, AIR - NEW DELHI’ I have anchored many Hindi programmes, Kavi Sammelan in India and Abroad. I visited U.K. U.S.A., (New York, Chicago, Washington, Visconsin Del), Mauritus, Singapore, Roma, Venice, Fluorence, Australia (Sydney, Melborne) and almost all parts of India either presenting research paper or participating in Kavi Sammelan.
